Character Interview: Damon Steele with Caitlin Olsen

Welcome to Pleasurable News. I’m Glorie Amadori, better known as Queen Grimhilde or the evil queen at Pleasure Manor’s fairy tale event. Today I’m interviewing Damon Steele, one of our clubs Doms. With him, is Caitlin Olsen, his soon-to-be wife.
Glorie settled herself in her wide, comfortable chair, her laptop on her knees. She smiled at the couple sitting close on the couch in front of her. “Welcome back to Pleasure Manor Damon and Caitlin. Damon. Can you tell our readers a bit about you? Where are you from? Did you have a happy childhood?”
Damon sighed and reached for Caitlin’s hand. Talking about his childhood was still painful. No one liked to admit their mother had abandoned them, or admit they had no idea who their father was.
“There’s not that much to tell, Glorie. I grew up in and around Central and Northern California. I was a foster child so I was shifted around a lot.” Moved, shoved, dragged, kicked out and just plain dumped from one home to another. Not once had he been wanted except for the money he brought with him. Even his near adoption ended up with him dumped back into the system when his foster parents got news that they were finally expecting a child of their own.
Bringing himself back to the second part of the question, he shrugged. “I can’t say it was a happy childhood, but it could have been a lot worse. Some good foster parents, some not so good. Mostly I ran free and did whatever I pleased.” Which was one reason he’d been bounced around so much. Not having a true home, he’d never felt the need to follow a stranger’s rules.
“Where do you live now?”
Smiling, Damon brought Caitie’s hand to his lips. “I’m living with Caitie at her ranch now.”
“Our ranch,” Caitie corrected with a gentle smile. When we are married, your name goes on the paperwork.”
“Caitie.”
“That’s final, Damon. The ranch is as much yours as mine.” She grinned at Glorie. “And so is the mortgage.”
Glorie grinned. “What do you do for a living? Is there something you'd rather be doing?”
“You mean besides answering your questions?” He winced when Caitlin punched him lightly. “Okay, I’m a contractor and have a small business. Before I met Caitie, I worked whatever jobs I could find. Now that I’m working the ranch, I don’t have a lot of time but I’ve already got several jobs lined up at other ranches. I’m also branching out, specializing in building elaborate tree houses, like the one at Pleasure Manor.”
Caitie leaned forward. “You’ve seen it, Glorie. It’s like a castle. I’ve never seen anything so awesome. Remind me to show you the plans for the one he’s building for us at the ranch.”
“Yes, Damon is very talented with his hands.” She laughed softly when Caitie blushed. “Okay, no teasing. So Damon, you used to be a Navy Seal?”
Damon narrowed his eyes. The Domme knew full well he disliked talking about that part of his life. “Yes, I enlisted on my eighteenth birthday. The military was my life until I was injured in an op. That ended my career.” It nearly ended his life. And until he met Caitie, he hadn’t wanted to live, had wished he’d died instead of his men. Until Caitie, he had nothing to live for. Once again, he took hold of Caitie’s hand. “Caitie changed everything. She and her horses saved me.”
Caitie shook her head. “No, you saved yourself. I just gave you the tools.”
Tell our readers what tools you gave Damon? I understand your ranch does a lot toward helping vets.
Nodding, Caitie leaned forward. “I gave Damon a horse. An abused, broken horse, who like Damon, just needed to know someone loved him and cared for him. The two bonded immediately.” Caitie turned to Damon. “He was so angry with me. With us.”
Damon nodded, narrowed his gaze as he met Glorie’s wide, innocent stare. She was one of his closest friends and he’d felt betrayed. “It was pretty low of you to dump me at her ranch. Didn’t even tell me.” He drew in a deep breath. “Best thing you could have done for me. I owe you both my life.”
“No, that’s what friends are for, Damon. Now, we all know you met at the Fairytale event here at Pleasure Manor. When did you learn you were in love?”
Damon chuckled and pulled Caitie close, his fingers fingering a strand of her brown hair. “I think I fell in love when she stormed into our “dungeon”, after all, she was Beauty to my Beast. She’d just had a run in with you, My Queen, and her temper was in full force. She was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen with fire flashing in her eyes and one breast bared and her hands cuffed behind her back.
Caitie rolled her eyes. “Well come on, it was very embarrassing. I’d never been to a BDSM event and had no idea what to expect. I realized I loved you at the ball. You were so talented, so sexy and so wounded. I knew I had to have you.”
Glorie looked from one to another. “So Damon, if Caitie and I hadn’t forced you to stay at her ranch, do you think you’d have gone to her and confessed your love? And Caitie, once you have him at your ranch, why did you make him stay in the bunkhouse?”
“I’ll go first,” Damon said. “The answer is no. I was in a very dark place and didn’t believe I deserved someone like Caitie. I could barely get through each day, even each hour. I didn’t have anything to offer her. I wasn’t whole.”
“It’s true,” Caitie added. “I knew from helping other wounded vets that until he healed and forgave himself, he wasn’t ready for forever. He had to take care of himself and heal. I’d have been a crutch if I let him stay with me and share my bedroom. So I kept my distance, knowing when he was ready, he’d come to me. And he did.”
Any last comments you’d like to share?
Damon grinned, a rather evil smile. “First, I look forward to the next installment of your rather entertaining newsletter. Rapunzel’s story is next I believe?” Glorie nodded. “Well, what I look most forward to reading is your story, my matchmaking queen and friend. After all these successful matches, it seems only fair if you fall as hard as the rest of us.”
Glorie sent him what most called her scary Domme look. “I think we’ll end this interview on that note. And for my hungry readers eager for the next story, here is a teaser for Rapunzel’s story.”
Jessica Lowe is a wealthy and beautiful woman who enjoys life. All she has to do is crook her finger and men come running. But her life is one big party, so she only finds the excitement she craves, along with safety, in the BDSM world. When she receives a coveted invite to a three-day fairy tale event at Pleasure Manor, she's thrilled. Until she learns the Dom she's partnered with is an old high school nemesis, the only person in her school who refused to do her bidding—or her homework.
CEO Jasen McPherson remembers Jessica as a spoiled, little rich girl who expected him to do all the work in the science lab and threw tantrums when he refused. From what he hears, not much has changed, and he’s surprised to learn the haughty, order-giving woman is a submissive. But word is she’s a very demanding sub and a master of manipulation who cracks the control of even the most experienced Doms. Yet, when asked to take part in an upcoming role-play event, he chooses Jessica as his partner. He's looking looks forward to the challenge of being Rapunzel’s prince. This time around, he’ll be the one making demands.

Sydney loves writing and sharing stories of love, happiness and dreams come true with her readers. She credits her mother for her writing success.  Encouraged to read as a child, she always preferred happy endings which meant romances were her favorite genre.  Sydney takes her readers into the world of erotica romance where her characters come together in explosive passion as they solve life’s problems and find true love along with the best sex our hero and heroine have ever experienced.

Sydney’s office is quite crowded with three dogs at her feet and five cats to keep her company while she writes. Three cats always insist on beds on her desk, barely leaving enough room for her monitor and keyboard. Life gets fun when all five insist on supervising…

When not writing, she enjoys crafts of all sorts including quilting, sewing, cross-stitch and knitting. She and her husband of 30 + years are avid gardeners. He takes care of the veggies, and Susan is in charge of the ‘pretties’. Her medicine wheel garden is in a contact state of war: flowers vs. weeds. Sadly, right now the weeds are wining…

While writing, she listens to a wide variety of music. Her current favorites are Blackmore’s Night and David Lanz.

Synopsis: Rancher Caitlin Olsen is in complete control of her life. After years of taking care of others, she’s on her own and loving every minute. She has her horses and her ranch. What more does she need? Yet deep inside, she yearns to give up all her responsibilities and simply experience life. When a friend suggests she try a bit of BDSM role-play, she does her research and accepts an invitation to Pleasure Manor for a fairy tale event.

Former Navy SEAL and Dominant, Damon Steele is a loner. His failure to keep his team alive destroyed too many hopes and dreams. He won’t be responsible for anyone else's life or happiness ever again. There’s no room in his life—or his heart—for romance. Instead, he satisfies his needs at BDSM clubs and never with the same sub. Taking part in the fairy tale event at Pleasure Manor is difficult enough, but when Beauty challenges him both in the bedroom and out, he’s not sure he can control his inner beast.
Excerpt:
She licked her lips, suddenly nervous again. How did a person begin a cold turkey sexual fling? She didn’t engage in one-night stands, always dated and got to know her past lovers first. “I’m Caitlin. I’ve never been here before. What now?”

He inclined his head. “I’m Damon. I’ll be your Dom for the weekend. Find the X on the floor and stand on it.”

Damon. To tame. Oh, yes, she wanted to tame her beast. Like a flame set to gas-soaked briquettes, his gaze on her breast, along with his sexy, deep baritone voice, ignited the ball of lust swirling in her center.

Whew, this won’t be so bad. In fact, if she hadn’t been cuffed, she might have jumped him, tumbled them both onto the couch.

He snapped his fingers, bringing her back to the here and now. “First rule. I don't give instructions more than once. Do as I ordered.”

The lust in her veins cooled and once again, indignation threaded with anger took hold. “Excuse me?” No one had ordered her around since she was thirteen and assumed the role of parent to her younger siblings and caregiver to her mother.

“Your choice is to obey or leave. If you want to leave, I’ll remove the cuffs and let Hastings arrange for you to be taken home.”

Go before she sampled this hunk? Nope. No matter how much she hated being told what to do. Her curiosity was piqued, and her body ached to have this man kiss her. And claim her like a stallion claiming his mare. This Belle wanted her Beast.
